I won’t pretend anymore. The complete invisibility of Larry Page for going on nine years now amounts to an absurdist comedy, and it’s not funny. He’s the fifth-wealthiest person in the world. He holds a 26% voting interest in $3 trillion Alphabet Inc. Combined with the voting interest of his friend and Google co-founder Sergey Brin, the two hold a 51% controlling interest. And yet, there is no photographic, video, or recorded audio evidence of Page since December 2016. Why hasn’t Page made a video affirming that he retains his autonomy and isn’t under someone else’s undue influence? It would help to allay concerns for his well-being. And he wouldn’t have to give up anything about himself either, including his location. Just the fact that he’s OK. Neither Sergey Brin nor Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai have affirmatively said when they last spoke to Page. Both have done interviews in recent years, but interviewers don’t ask either one of them as to Page. Isn’t it time that someone does a welfare check on Mr. Page?
